Television

In full, living black-and-white, a 21 inch screen and not a cable in sight!    The television guide was obviously one section where The Australian’s edition for each capital city differed, the sporting pages the other.  Canberra-ites (Canberrians?) had two channels to choose from (the A.B.C’s 10.30 Test Card possibly the highest rating, but “nude With Violin” at 8.30 sounds promising) - while most capital cities including Melbourne had three.

For Canberra readers, we recommend the Test Card and Music at midday, although parental care should be exercised if fancying "Nude With Violin" at 8.30. One never knows where that bow string may have been ...
