CSIRO Problem In Computer Network

About 200 people will attend a conference in the Electrical Engineering Department of Sydney University on automatic computing machines.

Representatives of other universities, the defence forces, C.S.I.R.O. (which, with the University, has arranged the conference), Government departments and private firms will be present.

Demonstrations of the new C.S.I.R.O differential analyzer ("mechanical brain") at the University, an electrolytic tank, punched card machine, desk calculating machines, and a high-speed digital electronic computer will he given on Tuesday.

More specialised sessions for scientists concerned with the design and development of computing machines will be held on Wednesday and Professor P. K. Hartree, Plummer Professor of Mathematical Physics at Cambridge who has been giving a series of special lectures at the University will attend
