Athletes from various countries make their way to team buses at the Olympic Village in Heidelberg on their way to the Opening Ceremony, and (right) on return    On Opening Day, some 90 police ensured that a convoy of 167 buses moved without obstruction from the Heidelberg Village to the stadium  An average of 79 buses per day transported competitors to and from the Village
